Cleaning Products
- RCA RD1007Z Discwasher Record Cleaning Kit
- I use this to clean dust and dirt from the surface of the vinyl. This kit comes with a record cleaning brush, cleaning solution, a small brush to clean the record brush itself, and a storage pouch.
- Discwasher RD2047Z D4+ Vinyl Record Care Refill
- If you already have the Discwasher cleaning kit, you can get the cleaning solution separately when you run out!
- Vinyl Styl Anti-Static Vinyl Record Cleaning Brush
- After using cleaning solution, use an anti-static brush to minimize static electricity buildup on your record. I use this Vinyl Styl brush and it works pretty well, especially given its inexpensive price.
- Spin-Clean Record Washer Complete Kit
- A record brush will give you some nice results, but to get the grit out of the deeper parts of a record, you need something more powerful. Fill the Spin-Clean with distilled water, add a capful of the included cleaning solution, line up the rollers and brushes, then insert a record and rotate it three revolutions in each direction. The kit also includes soft white drying cloths.
- Spin-Clean Record Washer Fluid
- If you have more than a handful of records or plan to keep building your collection, you will run out of cleaning fluid for your Spin-Clean! Available in various sizes.
- Ortofon Stylus Brush
- Not only can dust and dirt build up on your records, but it can also coat your stylus. Avoid the temptation to use gel- or silicone-based stylus cleaners, as it has recently been found that they leave behind harmful residues. Use a stylus brush instead, moving only from the back of the stylus to the front.
